  • A Parent’s Guide to TikTok

    Have you heard about the latest new app called TikTok? Learn how it's used and how parents can also help their kids stay safe while on it. You'll leave the class with helpful action items with your family to help gain a better understanding on what to do/what not to do within the app. The class will help set up a healthy foundation for technology habits your family members can use for the rest of their life whether in school or in their professional careers. Please note that each class is taught live online. If a student is unable to attend the live online training time, they can still register and watch the recording of the training at their convenience. Follow-up support is also included from the instructor and students are encouraged to reach out with questions at any time before or after the class has concluded.
  • Artistic Me: Butterfly Sun Catcher

    Sun-catchers are a fun addition to a window. Choose from a butterfly or dragonfly shape and decorate using colorful bits of glass, stringers and dots. Once fired, a chain will be added for hanging. Items will be clear glazed and fired for pick up at a later date. This class is held at Artistic Me - 205 5th Street NE, Buffalo. Parents may drop off their child at Artistic Me or choose to have your child meet at the Community Education office in the Discovery Center to walk with a chaperone to Artistic Me.     Enjoy the relaxing sounds of crystal singing bowls for a 60 minute sound meditation session. Bring a yoga mat and blankets where you can sit or lie down on the floor and allow yourself to immerse in the soothing vibrations. This is a great end of the day class that can reduce anxiety and stress and help facilitate a restful night sleep.
  • DayTrippers Dinner Theatre (Plymouth Playhouse): Till Beth Do Us Part

    This side-splitting romp about marriage and careers introduces us to the Haydens – Suzannah and her husband Gibby, a local TV weatherman. They are a couple who both work and decide an assistant is needed to help put the house in order. So, they hire a highly motivated, gregarious Southerner named Beth. Little do they know, Beth is after Suzannah’s job! Throw in a couple of wise-cracking best friends and a British boss lady, and you discover the hazards of hiring an assistant can be hilarious!   • Driver Education - Spring B (April-May) 2024

    Online registration ends Monday, April 1 at 4 pm or when the class is full. After April 1, call Community Education at 763.682.8770 to see if space is still available. BHM Community Education offers classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction year-round. Classroom offerings include: Fall A (Sept-Oct), Fall B (Oct-Nov), Winter (Jan-Feb), Spring A (Feb-March), Spring B (April-May) and many sections throughout June and July in the summer. During the school year, classroom is offered right after school (3:45-6:45 pm) 2-days a week for 5-weeks. During the summer, class times include mornings, afternoons and evenings, M-F for 2-weeks. It is recommended students are age 15 by the last day of classroom instruction, or shortly thereafter, as this is the age the student needs to be to take the Written Knowledge Test. The fee includes 30 hours of classroom instruction AND 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction with a licensed teacher. BTW instruction is typically scheduled one-hour each month for six months. Once you have your Instructional Permit, do not wait to be assigned to a BTW instructor so you can schedule your first BTW session. Driver’s Education is not funded by the State of Minnesota, therefore, all costs must be incurred by the family upon registering. (No discounts or scholarships are available for the driver education program.) No class Wednesday, April 24. Class will be held Thursday, April 25 instead. No class Monday, April 29. Spring B 2024 Make-Up Session: One make-up session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 3:45-6:45 pm, at Buffalo High School. Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Students needing more than 3-hours of make-up time will be withdrawn and the student will retake the full 30 hours of classroom instruction and pay the $125 classroom fee. Please check for schedule conflicts prior to registration. Parent and Teen Safety Presentation: Soon to be drivers and their parents can choose to attend a two-hour presentation as part of their Driver’s Education training. The focus of the presentation is to educate the audience on the seriousness of teen driving, the real risk of teen crashes and what parents and teens can do to make things safer when new drivers are behind the wheel.Fee is $10. The student must pre-register at bhmschools.ce.eleyo.com or call 763.682.8770 (Dates are yet to be determined). Safe Communities of Wright County and Community Education will offer the presentation.
  • Drivers Education

    A staff person is available at the Community Education office M-F, 8 am-330 pm (except holidays and some non-school days) to be assigned a behind-the-wheel (BTW) instructor, pick up your Blue card, etc. BHM Community Education offers classroom instruction throughout the year (Fall A: Sept/Oct), (Fall B: Oct/Nov), (Winter: Jan/Feb), (Spring A: Feb/March), (Spring B: April/May) and many sections during the summer. It is recommended students are age 15 by the last day of classroom instruction as this is the age the student needs to be to take the Written Knowledge Test. Don't wait until the deadline to register... classes fill quickly so early registration is encouraged. The fee includes 30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with a licensed teacher AND all classroom materials.
