Becky Wallin

Hey BHS Band Students! I’m Becky Wallin, and I’m super excited to be your new woodwind lesson teacher at Buffalo High School! I’ve been teaching music for over 12 years—everything from Band and General Music to private lessons—and it is my deepest passion and greatest honor to help students grow as musicians.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Instrumental and General Music Education from UW–Eau Claire. I’ve worked with middle and high school woodwinds, brass, and percussion students—both in full band settings and smaller lesson groups. Currently, I also teach woodwind lessons at the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts in St. Cloud, as well as online lessons.

Although clarinet is my main instrument—I’ve been playing for over 35 years and performing with the Northern Symphony Orchestra since 2009-I also teach flute, oboe, saxophone, and bassoon at all levels, from beginners just starting out to advanced players.

My best school memories include being first chair through-out middle school, high school and college and being selected to play in the Minnesota All-State Band for two years in high school. My best college experience was performing Copland’s Clarinet Concerto as a soloist with the UW-Eau Claire Wind Ensemble. Performing has always been a huge part of my life, and it definitely shapes how I teach.

My goal is to help you become confident, independent musicians. I use lots of hands-on demos—on clarinet, flute, oboe, and saxophone—so you can see and hear how things work. I tailor each lesson to your goals and pace, and I always aim to keep things upbeat, clear, and fun.

I’m here to support you, challenge you, and help you find your own musical voice. Let's have fun creating music together!
