  • Driver's Education Summer 2021 (July - Distance Learning)

    Classroom is Online via Distance Learning: Recommended age for classroom is for the student to be 15 years old by the end of the 30 hours of classroom instruction, then they are eligible to take knowledge test. The student will access the Google Meet classroom using their BHM district issued email. If the student does not attend BHM Schools, please contact Community Education at 763.682.8770 or email commed@bhmschools.org to have a district email assigned. Students should monitor their district email for the Google Meet invite from the instructor about 3-5 days prior to the class start date. A total of 30 hours of classroom must be completed via Distance Learning and 100% attendance and promptness are expected. Instructor may announce date/time changes. Classroom Materials Pickup: July 6-9 (T-F, 8 am-3:30 pm) Pick up your classroom materials at the Community Education office, 301 2nd Ave NE, Buffalo Return classroom materials and pick-up the Blue Card at Community Education July 12-16 (M-F, 8 am-3:30 pm). If the Drive Right book is not returned, your account will be charged $95 replacement fee. Make-Up Session: One make-up session is scheduled Monday, July 26, 8-11 am, via online distance learning. Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Students needing more than 3-hours of make-up time will be withdrawn. The student will retake 30 hours of classroom instruction and pay the $110 classroom fee again. Parent and Student Safety Meeting: We are not able to offer at this time. Knowledge Test: *NEW - The DMV is now requiring parents to schedule an appointment for the Knowledge Test OR the Knowledge Test can be taken online at home. The DMV no longer offers onsite testing at the Buffalo site. Please visit drive.mn.gov to schedule an exam or request to take the test online. Students will pick-up their Blue Card at the Community Education office when they return all their class materials/books. The Blue Card must be signed by the student at time of pickup. The parent/guardian cannot sign for the student.
