  • No Show Behind-the-Wheel (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024)

    The student/parent is required to pay the No-Show Fee for missing a scheduled appointment with the Behind-the Wheel instructor. A receipt will be given/emailed to the student/parent in order to schedule the next Behind-the-Wheel appointment.
  • Parent & Teen Driver Education Safety Presentation 2024-2025

    This Parent & Teen Safety Presentation is intended for families registered in the BHM Community Education Driver's Education program. Only the student/teen needs to register. Please include the total number of parents/guardians that will attend in the registration question to ensure we have enough seating. We highly encourage soon to be drivers and their parents to attend this presentation as part of their Driver’s Education training. The focus of the presentation is to educate the student and parents on the seriousness of teen driving, the real risk of teen crashes and what parents and teens can do to make things safer when new drivers are behind the wheel. The student fee is $10. Only the student needs to pre-register at bhmschools.ce.eleyo.com or call 763.682.8770. Safe Communities of Wright County and Community Education will offer the presentation on the following dates: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 6:30-8 pm, Buffalo High School Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 6:30-8 pm, Buffalo High School Fall and winter dates TBD
  • Summer Driver Education 2024 (July Classes)

    Registration for July classes in Buffalo end Monday, July 1 or when the classes are full. Classes are limited to 35 students. Registration for July class in Montrose end Monday, July 22 or when the class is full. Classes are limited to 35 students. BHM Community Education offers classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction year-round. Classroom offerings include: Fall A (Sept-Oct), Fall B (Oct-Nov), Winter (Jan-Feb), Spring A (Feb-March), Spring B (April-May) and many sections throughout June and July in the summer. During the school year, classroom is offered right after school (3:45-6:45 pm) 2-days a week for 5-weeks. During the summer, class times include mornings, afternoons and evenings, M-F for 2-weeks. It is recommended students are age 15 by the last day of classroom instruction, or shortly thereafter, as this is the age the student needs to be to take the Written Knowledge Test. The fee includes 30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction with a licensed teacher AND all classroom materials. BTW instruction is typically scheduled one-hour each month for six months. Once you have your Instructional Permit, do not wait to be assigned to a BTW instructor so you can schedule your first BTW session. Driver’s Education is not funded by the State of Minnesota, therefore, all costs must be incurred by the family upon registering. (No discounts or scholarships are available for the driver education program.) Make Up Days: Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Students needing more than 3-hours of make-up time will be withdrawn and the student will retake 30 hours of classroom instruction and pay the $125 classroom fee. Please check for schedule conflicts prior to registration. July Make-Up Session (Buffalo Classes): One make-up session is scheduled for Monday, July 22, 8-11 am, at Buffalo High School. July Make-Up Session (Montrose Class): One make-up session is scheduled for Monday, August 12, 8-11 am, at Montrose Elementary School.
