  • BTW Instruction for Non-Classroom Students and Adults

    Behind-the Wheel instruction for students under the age of 18 that did not take classroom instruction through BHM Community Education and for adults (age 18+) needing instruction and/or refresher before taking the road test. Cost is $300 for 6-hours of BTW or $50 per hour.
  • Driver's Education Spring A February Session (Gunderson)

    Classroom Instruction: It is recommended students be age 15 by the end of the 30 hours of classroom instruction. Students must be age 15 to be eligible to take Written Knowledge Test at a test center. Make-Up Session: One make-up session for Spring A session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, 3:45-6:45 pm, in Room F101 at Buffalo High School with Mr. Gunderson. Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Students needing more than 3-hours of make-up time will be withdrawn and the student will retake the full 30 hours of classroom instruction and pay the $110 classroom fee again. Please check for schedule conflicts prior to registration. Written Knowledge Test: The DMV requires the parent/student to schedule an appointment for the Written Knowledge Test. Visit drive.mn.gov to schedule the Written Knowledge Test. A Blue Card is needed to take the Written Knowledge Test. Blue Card: The Blue Card will be given to students at the last class if they completed the course work and are registered for behind-the wheel instruction. Student’s who are age 14 can choose to be given their Blue Card after the last class and keep it in a safe place until they turn age 15 or they can pick up their Blue Card at the Community Education office, 301 NE 2nd Ave Buffalo, M-F, 8 am-330 pm, when they turn age 15. The student must be present to sign the Blue Card. *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Parent and Student Safety Meeting (This is optional and requires a separate registration) Parents and students are encouraged to attend one of the sessions. The focus of the Safety Presentation is to educate the audience on the seriousness of teen driving, the real risk of teen crashes and what parents and teens can do to make things safer when new drivers are behind the wheel.

    This Parent & Teen Safety Presentation is intended for families registered in the BHM Community Education Driver's Education program. Only the student/teen need to register. We know a parent/guardian will accompany the student/teen. Soon to be drivers and their parents can choose to attend a two-hour presentation as part of their Driver’s Education training. The focus of the presentation is to educate the audience on the seriousness of teen driving, the real risk of teen crashes and what parents and teens can do to make things safer when new drivers are behind the wheel.
